Do you want to be the envy of all your friends by learning how to grill the perfect steak? You definitely can develop the skills necessary for grilling perfect steaks. You will just need to understanding a few important steps about the grilling process that are involved in achieving perfectly grilled steaks. One of the most important things that you need to be understood in order to grill perfect steaks is that you must allow the steak to come to room temperature before you place it on the grill. Never place a steak directly on the grill directly from the refrigerator. If you allow the steak to reach room temperature it will grill more evenly. Always use tongs, not meat forks, to move and turn steaks on the grill. Using a meat fork will pierce the meat and release the juices, resulting in a less than perfect steak. You will have a much better steak if you use tongs. Be sure not to move the steak around on the grill too much. Many people make this mistake when grilling and, as a result, they do not achieve the perfectly grilled steak. You need to avoid moving the steak every minute or so, although it is tempting to do so. Allow the steak to cook for about four minutes before moving it at all. And do not flip the steak yet. Wait a little bit longer for that. You should grill the steak for about seven minutes on each side. After about seven minutes on each side, the steak should be done to medium rare. For a more well done steak, cook it a little longer on each side. Be sure to avoid cooking the steak too long in order to prevent dryness. To prevent food borne illness, steaks should be cooked to an internal temperature of 140 degrees. You can use a meat thermometer to be sure of this. Learning to cook perfect steaks on the grill may take some practice, but the results will definitely be worth the effort. Not only will you enjoy great tasting steaks, you will be the envy of all who have the pleasure of enjoying them with you.
