Losing Belly Fat and Why Most Methods Don't Work

If you want to look as good as possible these days, you have to have a flat tone stomach. Everywhere you look there are models with strong tone muscles on their stomachs. Many people have a problem in this area, particularly as they age. Belly fat is something that many people struggle with and it can be more of a health problem than people think. Belly fat is linked to heart disease and other diseases.

There seems to be an overload of products on the market that claim they can remove belly fat. There are pills and exercise equipment that is claiming to be the one thing that will get rid of stubborn stomach fat.

With an increased interest in belly fat and it's health implications a lot of studies are making some great new discoveries. It seems like some of the best fat burning methods are not what we thought they were. It seems like a lot of what we believe in the area of weight loss and losing body fat is nothing but myths. Today, you simply cannot afford to be ill informed any more. Here are some of the biggest myths about weight loss:

Go on a Diet. Thinking that eating less will make you lose more fat is a mistake you can easily make. Most diets actually slowing down your metabolism and your body end up burning even less fat. Your ability to store fat increases when your on FAD diets. This is the reason why you gain more weight when coming off a diet that's based on depriving your body. Calorie intake always needs to be kept under control, but starving yourself will not burn stomach fat.

Exercises that target the stomach muscles are also a method that some people try. Doing hundreds of sit ups every day will not burn the fat around your stomach. You will tone the stomach muscles, but the fat is not being burned. These exercises should be part of an exercise program that works all the muscles in the body and not just the stomach muscles.

Avoid Fat. Another common mistake in our thinking is to imagine that eating fat makes you fat. Low fat products have been advertised for more than a decade now and it sells very well to uneducated consumers. The kinds of fats you do find in low fat products are the worse kind and actually contribute to excess stomach fat. One of the best fat burners is fat. The right kinds of fats burns stomach fat faster that any other food.
